Message: 1) How much money do you want to spend?
2) Bucket or bench seat? Can you live without the center console or seat? Five speed or auto? How tall are your? - all of those question will determine how much air space you'll have available for the sub(s).
3) What kind of music do you listen to?
Can't recommend anything till we get those issues out of the way.

Message: You might be able to build a small console for a single 8" sub IN FRONT of the middle seat. A person sitting in the center would have to share leg room with the passenger but it's an option to consider since you have the auto and there is no stick on the floor taking up space.
I'm 6' and need the seats to be one notch from all the way back, not sure how much room is the back of reg cab but I fit two Kicker Solo 8" in a reg cab Chevy S10 before so you can do it. Two 8"s will actually be better than one 10" if you listen to a wide range of music too I think.

Message: I just got back from one of the local audio places in my area. That's what they suggested. Like I said I'm not really big on audio so I figured I would ask around. I like 10's but is I have to settle for 8's then I will. I there a big difference in the sound quality. Also, are JL w3's any good?? Right now, I'm looking at 500 for JL 10w3, possibily a custom box and mtx amp.

Message: I was looking at the new 2003 Blaupunkt Saucer Series Subs that are suppose to come out this spring/summer in a 2003 brochure from blau and they would fit in the Rear of any standard cab and any vehicle no matter what amount of room you have. These will have great application in standard cabs. Interested to listen to them. Here are some pics of them and some of the other subs/speaker lines that are coming out.

BTW, the mounting depth for the ODw subs are 2.2" for both 10 and 12" models, 200WRMS/600WPe handling (SPL comps...maybe not).

Message: JL for sure, I'd say one 10" w3 will give you plenty of thump especially if you push it with JL amp. If you can, try to match the subs and the amp, that way the final product will be sound matched
