Ok here it is boys i need some help on somthing here, im goin to be gettin 2 subs in the future and i have thoughts on which one to be gettin i got some brand i need ya to tell me which ones oyu would take, either Eclipse 10" x 2 titaniums, or Alpine Type R's 2 10"s, kicker L7's 2 10"s (altough i dont really like kicker) or Planet Audio's 2 10" Zetar's or else 2 10" Cerwin Vegas. Please help me out.

i have a 97 extended dakota. I run 38.5" tires and a blown high performance 360. But audio is my specialty. If you want a good system any of those choices is fine. Dont get cerwins or alpines; you wont be happy. Let me tell you my set-up: I am currently running three JL Audio (he best subs ever made) 12" subs with a monster JL amp. Im not sure the decibels it is pumping out, but i know its loud enough to completely destroy my hearing half way up very quivkly! LOL! But you also gotta remember subs arent the only thing you can do: I am running a custon Eclipse system (8 speakers) with the subs set-up and I am very happy with the results. Depending on the sub set-up a custom box may be needed (one of my buddies builds them for a living so I got hooked up). Just dont forget the airspace you will need depending on the subs; and get a custom built box cause truck boxes suck.

the kicker L7s a great subs, IF INSTALLED CORRECTLY
alot of people say they lack sound quality. but i think thats just because they are not using enough air space. every pair i have heard (all installed at the same shop) have sounded great!!!

eclipse subs are very good subs,my friend has 4 15" eclipse's with 4 memphis 1500d's sounds bad(rattles balls like 30 feet away)LOL.I have 2 12" alpine type r's and i dont care what everyone else says there good subs for the price and they sound great and can handle the watts good,i'm pushing 900 true watts a peice and have it turn up full blast all the time will in town,but i'm selling them,not because i dont like them but because i'm biulding a full wall with 4 15" RF hx2's and 2 memphis 1500d's.

Alpine r's sound great/Bang I dont care what you say they imppressed me ! ,JL Ok, Best ever made I have to disagree there , Kickers do sound good and bang with enough air space , I heard some Alum eclipse and thought they were very Thuudy sounding , Orion makes soem very good sounding subs Or used to .. Adire Brahma is probably the best sounding loudest sub I ever owned .. Prety much any sub can sound good depending on the install and Of course The biggest thing is how do they sound to you , Thats what really matters ...

JL are the best ever made; thats why they never lose at sound offs; but you know i was thinkin, ive actually dbq'ed at 141 db with two 12" rockford fosgate punch Z's in a custom box powered by a 760 watt Pioneer sub turned up about 2/3 of the way up. The entire system, and it does pound, cost me like $400. So if you want a good cheap system that may be the way to go

Entire system, so that was for the subs and amp?
I consider a "system" the HU, amp(s), subs, and OTHER SPEAKERS besides subs.
High school system= any cd player, local electronics store coaxials that came free with said cd player, Bass boosted amp, at least 12's in huge a** box.
Honestly now, first determine what you want out of the "system", what you are willing spend, and what space you will work with. There are large speakers that don't need large boxes, but require a little more power. Every thing has trade-off's. Right Joezzzzzz! Grey-Fx, try to listen to them and check out some forums dedicated to the topic and do searches. Picking something different or building your own custom design will set you apart. Don't take the sheepish way out and buy what everyone else has, stand out.

Forget all those big name company's they all can't compete with Adire, Element Design, Resonant Engineering, Blue Print, and Scanspeak. Why spend money on a name brand and a cool look when you can get something not as known for less money and will sound a lot better. Some great company's are Beyond Audio and Digital Designs.
JL, and Kicker, and all those other company's can't compete.

Orion all of the way. The new H2's, or even the P series from this year (like last years HCCA's) or even last years hcca models. I have a friend with a 2 HCCA 12's and a xtr1400 (700 RMS to each) and is hitting a 152 db. This years H2's are even louder. The strokers used to be awesome. They still are but they take up so much dang airspace. They are just getting beat out by newer subs. H2, W7, ect.

i got four jl w3s with boston components 500/1 to each pair of subs and a 300/1 to each set of components . ill blow anybodys ass away i went up against some dude who thought he was a bad ass with his 4 kicker comp 12s i turned two of my subs off and still blew his ass away. i turned my other two on and raped him right there . JL ARE THE BEST NUFF SAID
