 Subject: Illuminated Push Button Ignition

Well , I just installed the push button as the directions say. The button lights up. But, I can't get it to start the truck up. If anyone has tried one of these or has some know how on which ignition wire to hook this thing up to that would be great?! 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T
Ps- I mounted the button where the 12v accessory slot is next to the cigarette lighter. Looks great. Just gotta get it to work.

im sorry i cant help u...but i do have a question...if u get it to work doesnt that make it easier to steal a nice truck??? to my knowledge the push button ignition was used mainly for race cars and military hummers...?

im not sure what he installed, but the only kits ive seen where that u have to put the key in and turn it, then u can only use the push button. is this right?

You still have to put the key in the ignition. The starter still works. It's just a cosmetic add on/ fun toy. It is made by Ignited.

Actually I asked in this forum because majority of the guys on the audio forum know the wiring of our trucks. Since they have installed systems, alarms, remote starts. Things of that nature. But, I have know idea why this would be Performance related since it adds no performance to the truck. It does have to do with wiring under the dash. Which the AUDIO gods here know the best. So, thanks for your imput. But, you were absolutely no help to my question. Thanks.
