Message: Hey, I got 2 10" Alpine subs the other day and I need any recommendations on what kind of amp to get and wattages and all that. The speakers are 250watts RMS and 600watts peak each. I'm putting them in a Q-Custom Bandpass box and setting them in the bed of the truck (I got a Leer Camper). Any recommendations on amplifiers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris Milam

Message: a 500w 2 channel rockford would work great...memphis amps are also really good for the money too...but id stay around a 500w amp from a good brand...the shi**y brands that say 500w or 1000w usually are only around 100w to 200w or so and have very poor sound quality...

Message: Are those the Type S's? what is the impedence on them, 4 ohms? if so, you'll probably be best served to get a mono amp because if you wired those in parallel you would get a 2 ohm load. Many mono amps are designed for this purpose, such as the Memphis 500D, directed 600D, I think crossfire makes a 600D, MTX 500D, kenwood mono amps (like the 401M), rockford bd500.1 (i don't like rockford though, so that would be my last choice), etc.

Message: I think an awesome amp to get would be the alpine m-500's if your running alpine subs the sond will match great together. its a 900watt x 1 max at 14 volt input

Message: rockford amps arent bad...jus depends on what ohm load u want to run...i have the bd500.1 and it works great ku40...but thats cuz i run a 2 ohm load...if i wanted anything lower id be screwed cuz rf doesnt make an amp stable at lower than 2 ohms to my knowledge...
