I posted this in General before I saw this section. I just got my 98 CC Dak, and want to replace the factory cassette with a CD player. I would prefer it be indash only, and I dont want to change the speakers. I just want to pull out the old deck and install one with a cd player. I would prefer the factory cd player. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If not the factory one, is there one that is rather inexpensive that would work well? I am not intrested in satalite radio. Thanks, sorry about the 2 posts.

Replacing is easy, see the other post on how to remove the dash, tilt steering wheel down, pull firmly on dash trim, 1 or 2 bolts holding the unit and a couple wire connectors.. Go to local parts store or wally world and get a dash kit and wire harness.. about 25 bucks total.

If you do not have the factory Infinity Permium sound system, get a unit that has an amplified out put and just replace the unit. If you plan to update more of your system later get a unit that has a set of pre-out jacks, you can easily add an amplifier for subs at a later date.

If you have the Infinity premium sound system, it has an internal amplifier.. and all you want to do is replace the factory unit with a CD player.. just get a low end CD player of your choice and put it in and you are done. But note that if you get something with high outputs, i.e 4x45watts, you will have distortion and less control of the sound from the unit, because you will easily overdriving the internal amplifier when turning up the volume or equalization controls.
