Subject: Upgrading Stock Sound System IP: Logged
Message: I'm not doing the custom thing, I'm just replacing the stock head unit and 4 speakers. I'm going with a kenwood system because I want to get sirius satellite radio. I will use the Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 for the radio/CD player with KENWOOD KFC-1389ie 5.25" 3WY SPEAKERS and KENWOOD KFC-1689ie 6.5" 3WY SPEAKERS. This should give me a fairly good sounding system I'm hoping. Any comments on Kenwood as far as car audio goes. ANY COMMENTS ON SATELITTE RADIO? I am in my truck a lot as part of my side job and want to treat my eras and brain to some better sound and programming. I have a couple questions though. 1st is are the 5.25's in the doors or behind the seat? 2nd are there any plastic tabs or metal clips to watch out for when removing the door panels and back cover. Any things to watch out for. Would just some poly foam work as well as this special sheet dampining stuff? Thanks
