Did you get a Charging card with it ? You should charge it first with the card , The just run your Power wire to it then to the amp ( as close to the amp as poss) , And the ground the same way to cap then to amp

no charging card, but a resistor.. so basically, im using ring terminals to make terminations to the posts on the cap?

Charge it first. Wire negative terminal to the negative post on your battery. Do the same with the positive, but wire the resistor between the batt. and cap. Then wait. 1-2 minutes should be ok.
When wiring it up. Wire the negative terminal of the cap to ground. I would use the same ground that you use for your amp. Then wire your power wire from your battery to the positive terminal. Also wire your amp power wire to positive. So, basically you have your power wire running from your battery to the cap (+). Power out of the cap to your amp(+). Then just one wire to ground the cap(-).
