Subject: Subs for 00' QC IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know of a box for the 00'QC? Or does anyone have a custom built box? I already have a Sony XPlod CDX-C7050X Mobile ES head unit and a Pioneer amp hooked up to the stock Infinity speakers.
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Message: I have a 2001 Quad Cab and put a custom box,I made with a Rockford Fosgate 3208 8" sub.It went behind the drivers side rear seat.It was a tight fit and you have to remove the seat to put it in place(the seat doesn't fold up anymore). The amp. went behind the pass. side rear seat.I only have a 110 watt A.D.S amp. but the bass is great. You can only fit a small amp behind the seat but the seat will still fold up.I have the standard Infinity amp. and speakers running and now the sub.I put in a Kenwood MP3 player in the truck which is awesome.

Message: Thanks for answering. I went to the shop were I purchased my head unit and had it and the amp installed. They came up with a box(custom of course) that will fit over the back hump between the seats with an 8" JL Audio woofer. I am also going to replace the stock speakers with JL 6 1/2" seperates for the front and some JL 6 1/2" in the rear. All for about $650. Anyway thanks for your idea.

Message: If you make your own box and take your time you could put it behind the drivers side rear seat and not take up any leg room between the rear seats. As for the door speakers,I think there 6 3/4 but the 6 1/2 will work with an adapter.

Message: I had a couple of questions about your sub RAM... (or anyone else who can help).
I have the stock 8 speaker Infinity set-up with the stock CD deck.
First, did the sub sound really good or just a little better? I know it won't sound like two 10's but I do want some clean bass and I was wondering if it is worth the effort(behind the seat).
Second, does a new deck make a huge difference in sound? I was hoping to keep the stock CD player for a clean/stock look. But if a new deck will make a huge sound improvement then I might switch.
Thanks!

Message: Yes the 8" Rockford Foasgate with the 110watt amp. was worth the effort. The sub really puts out great bass.I put the Kenwood stereo in for the MP3 player and the fact that the facory radio doesn't have pre-amp outputs. The sound off the system is a major difference from the stock system.

Message: Hey brandon, do you have the '01 QC? I didn't know if thunderforms made boxes for the dakota QC I thought it was for the Rams. If that is the case then I will be getting the thunderform. Oh and if anybody else cares the Qlogic 10"boxes do not fit behind the seats. It was close but no cigar. Any info on the thunderform for the '01 QC would be appreciated though. If anyone has on in thier quad could you email me pics please? Thanks in advance.

Message: The only box that will fit behind the back seat is one that you make for yourself.(Quad Cab)The Rockford Fosgate #3208 is a dual voice coil and it requires the smallest sealed box to make it work write. My amp. is only a 110watt A.D.S. but you can't fit anything much bigger behind the rear pass. seat and still have the seat go up and down. The sound is worth every minute of building the box.

Message: Hey, i put in a new deck with my exisiting speakers. I think ther eis a hell of a diff.
I have an Alpine CDA-7883...
It has 60 wattts RMS and looks so sharp (my truck is silver).
Anyway, with the bass-forward control (pushes bass to the front speakers only) i have some great sounds coming from the truck!
its worth a new head unit!
Click here to see my deck

Message: The thunder form is definately only for the Club Cab, NOT the Quad Cab. I'm building a box for a 10" L7 Solobaric that goes over the hump on the floor in the back.

Message: There is now a Thunderform box for the quad cabs. It fits neatly behind the rear seat on the driver's side of the truck. It contains a 10" subwoofer and can be purchased with or without a built-in amplifier. Just do a search on Google to find a retailer to purchase it from.

Message: Behind your rear passenger sear if you remove the jack holder the Pioneer ts-swx251 fits tightly in there like mine currently sits. Again, the seat won't fold, but you can still store items under it. The corresponding Pioneer 400wRMS amp will fit under the drivers side rear seat no problem. Wiring the positive through the firewall is fun. I went in behind the brake booster I believe. All hidden and comes up from the rear seat seat belt opening by the floor. Plenty of bass for my truck.
Tip, get a second person to help replace the seat when you put it back. The spring mechanism in the bottom of the seat is a pain while pushing the seat flush to the sub box.
