I was wondering what are the size of the speakers in the doors of a 02 Quad cab so I can buy the right ones the first time? What are the best ones for the money?

Todd, I just built a system in my 02 quad, I went with JL audio all the way around.
you can spend less but I believe you get what you pay for.
the speakers are 6 1/4.
Any good stereo shop will have variouse brands for you to listen too.

The factory specs say the speakers (infinity system) are 6.75". I was told by a factory rep that the front speakers are amplified and the rear speakers are not. That's just not right, man. You expect some bass from the rear and just don't get it.

I replaced my 02 QC speakers with 6.5" Infinity 625i's and they fit fine. I just removed the stock speakers from the exisitng plastic mounts and attached the new speakers using the mounts.

I have 2 pairs of Pioneer Premiere 6 1/2's on the way for my 02 dakota quad cab. I'm trying to decide and figure out how and where to put some subs now...There isn't much room to play with if you want to keep the passenger space...

2 Lanzar TWS 1" Titanium Dome Tweeter
2 Lanzar NEO8 8" Subwoofer
1 Lanzar VPRO4100 800 Amplifier
Panasonic CQ-DF602U CD Player/Receiver
The Subs are located in a box between the front seats this sound great.

I just recently bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab Sport. Can anyone tell me what is the actual size of the front door and back door speakers. Please. I keep hearing different sizes and i want to know exactly what i need to put in. Thank You.

The stock speaker size for the QC is 6.75" (6 3/4).
I have a set of apline 6.5" spr-174a components in the front and 6.5" spr-176a coax in the rear.
The speaker selection for 6.75" speakers is very limited compared to 6.5" speakers. Most speaker manufacturers have more speaker options in the 6.5" size. This is the reason why alot of people are installing 6.5" speakers.
The stock speakers are held in a plastic ring with plastic clips. It does not matter if you install 6.5 or 6.75" speakers you still need to create a way to mount them. I made sheet metal tabs the hold the speaker in - i have also seen people use a wood mount. You will see when you take off the doors and take a look at the speakers.

What brad said... take a look at my web site linked below, I made simple templates out of wood to mount a set of Infinity Reference 6.5" into the front and rear 6.5" openings on the QC, it was easy.

I'm trying to find out what size the speakers are in 05 quad cab,I know there is 6 total.thats what I have been told. I know they are several different sizes,could some body tell me what sizes they are,many thanks patrick.
