Message: Ok, I have done it. I got the idea from Tony C, thanks to his pictures. What I have done is take the console seat cushion out, and make a box slightly bigger than the seat itself, and mount a 10" sub firing downward. You have to cut a piece of the carpet out that sticks up for some reason to avoid contact with the sub. It bolts between the seats, just like the console would, but you have to loosen the seats to do it. I have 6 3/4" component speakers in the front doors with the tweeters mointed in the plastic just on the inside of the mirrors, and 6 1/2"'s in the rear doors, but they should be 6 3/4" for an exact fit. It's all powered by a kenwood kac959 5 channel amp with input from a new kenwood cd player. The amp is mounted on the rear wall behind the left seat. That part was a bit tricky, because I didn't anticipate the amp being so large, so what I did was take the seat back off of the clips to be able to access the amp for adjustment, and keep it tethered with the kiddie seat tie down. I was advised by a friend in the car audio business to do whatever it takes to get a 10 in the console, and it paid off bigtime. Built the box in about 6 hours, and the rest of the install took about 18 hours if you use all of the dust boots from the factory and dont drill any new holes for anything. This truck rocks now. I'll try to post pix if I can. Later.
