Anybody know if the Utopia 165W (6.5") will clear the door panels? Or are they too big? I'd like to know before getting a pair. Thanks.

If you can afford such nice speaks, then I'm sure there is a way to make them work. I have the 165K's and they fit just fine with a small spacer. There is still more gap between surround and panel if the Utopias are deeper.

I have the 165K2's and the fit fine in the front doors, they also have the same mounting depth as the 165W's, 78mm as listed in Focal's specs. Let me know how they sound, I was going to get them, but couldn't see spending the extra $200 on them.

After doing some comparing (and looking at the wallet), I'll probably go to the polykevlar series. Thanks. How do those K2s sound? And where did you mount the tweeters?

Andrew, do you have any rear speakers, and if you do, what are they? Is there any bottom end and the Punch? How do the tweets sound where they are? Nice setup.

Thanks, have the 165V's in the back, the mids are in the stock spot, and the tweeters are on each side in the back corners in the back rest of the seat. If you mean, do they have strong bass no, but they aren't subs. I didn't like how it sounded at first so I set the crossover lower on the back channels and rasied the gain a little, then I raised the crossover on the fronts and backed the gain off a touch. Now it has a good solid bottom end and no distortion, plus the treble has smoothed out and is much more detailed. It is also loud as hell! I can scream as loud as I can and not hear my voice over the music, and it is clear and defined as car audio can be. It kills any stock, or after market set up with regular speakers and not componets, now for the subs, he he he,

Andrew

That sounds pretty cool. I was wondering if you had a sub box or something of the sort and what amp you were using. I went to the Focal website, and could only find the 165 CV. Unless I missed a link somewhere. You have a nice setup, mine might be a little simiar. Thanks!

Yeah, I don't have the subs yet, but when I do get them my site will be updated with full pics, as for my back speakers, they don't make them any more, they updated the woofer, and have a new tweeter, I saw them yesterday at my local shop, I would have taken pics of the back speakers, but it was only like 5 degrees out at the time and it was too cold!! My amp for the componets is a Fosgate 750X under my seat.
Hope it turns out well,

Andrew

I might be able to find some online somewhere. Thanks. I'm getting some cool ideas. Did you use any sound deadening?
