Message: if you want to add a sub, you have to buy a LOC (Line-Out Converter). it basically taps into a speaker line and turns it into an RCA. then you run that to your amp. but if you have a distorted signal in that line, your amp will get the distorted signal too. sounds quality probably wont be as good as an aftermarket deck with rca's

Message: I want to hook up a Creative Nomad Jukebox (mp3 player) to my system and wanted to avoid using an RF modulator. Is there a way to hard wire something like that? If so, can it be wired to the CD controls?

As long as you have CD changer control on your deck it will work. I'll assume your truck is a 2000-2003.
The parts cost $70. I thought about getting one but decided to buy a Sony CDX-M630 head unit that has aux inputs. The Sony sounds many times better than my stock head unit.
