Subject: crossovers used on subs?? IP: Logged
Message: hey, im not too sure if you can do this. But can you hook up a crossover to subs? Does it do anything or would it be useless?? sometimes i find my subs distort and it seems to be when higher sounding drums play. thanks

Message: Crossover work fine on subs... low pass at 90Hz to 120Hz, steep slopes like 18db/octave are great for filtering out mid-bass. I would not run a sub without a crossover - preferable before amp (active) but a passive crossover will help too.
