 Subject: I got jacked.

Two nights ago some punk busted out my window and jacked my new pioneer DEH 7400 cd player. Are there any warranties or anywhere I can go to report the serial number or something. My insurance deductable is $500 so I really can't use that.
Basically I am just frustrated and I want to do something about it. Thanks

your probably just screwed unless you had it insured thru the insurance company. im not exactly sure but i dont think your could get it back any other way. report it to the police but that prolly wont help much either. id say your out a cd player and a window.

Your best option is to report it to the police. If you have a serial number you have a slim chance you will see it again. Most large PDs have pawn shop terams that go to the pawn shops and look for stolen items by their serial numbers. That is the only chance you got.

I have a few questions before I could help you out....
First... did you leave the faceplate on the radio? Or was it removed?
Secondly, Are your windows tinted on the front drivers and passenger side?
Third, At the entry point in the vehicle, did you or any of your friends use this recently? Did you wash your truck recently?

Sorry I havent answered to this post quicker, but yes the face plate was on. I did not have an alarm. My windows were tinted. And I dont know what you mean by my friends using the "entry point" They busted a small square hole on the bottom right of my window. The tint must have held the whole window together, although it was shattered.
And to anyone out there who has gotten there stereo stolen and your insurance deductable sucks like mine. I found out that some credit cards have a left protection on them. Had the credit card I bought the stereo with was a platinum instead of gold they would have replaced my stereo for me. But as far as the window I was on my own. Only items purchased with the card, and within one year.

Since you have full coverage the window and stereo are covered if the total of the window and the stereo are over $500 then report it because you'll get something from them.

I wouldn't necessarily report it if it's much over 500 dollars. Some companies are drop-happy and will drop if you get even two cases a year. My brother had three cases last year ($1500 worth of cd's, windshield broken, and lock picked out with screwdrivers causing body damage) but he could only report the first two because our dad was afraid he'd get dropped.
Since it's early in the year i'd rather play if safe, but I mean it's up to you. If you have even two on your record from your previous car, your insurance will probably go up on your next vehicle.

Best advice is if your going to replace your stolened head unit buy an Eclipse. They have a replacement program. If your head unit is stolened within the frist year they'll replace it. Which in this case if you would've had an Eclipse you would have a new head unit for free. Sorry about the bad luck. Plus Eclipse have the ESN security feature built into them. So even if someone does jack your head unit it's usless unless they knoe your key CD code. Just something to think about.

lilblackdak, I live in coppell also, my brother an I have had our stuff jacked twice, right in front of our house. I'm getting really pissed off. Some faggots keep coming a jacking everybodys stuff in our area. They found the kids who did it a few weeks ago and put them in jail and then it happened again like 5 days later, so obviously they have more buddies still out there. I'm going to leave my truck out a stay up all night with a baseball bat and beat some a$$.
