Message: Ok i think i have finally made up my mind to get a sub. I have decided to go with the infinity basslink. I have some questions for the install, since i already have an amp for my speakers is there any way i could just splice the power signal from that wire instead of running it all the way to the battery and what not. and could i also just splice all the wires for the speakers also? Thanks for all the help

Message: You could run your existing amp and the amplified bass link off of the same power cable AS LONG as the existing power cable is large enough to handle both amps. How big is your current amp? and what Gauge wire are you running it off of from your battery? I see the basslink has a 25 amp fuse. What I always have done no matter what I'm powering is to run a 4 gauge power cable from the battery ( fused at battery of course) to wherever I want it to end ( in my case it runs to the back of the club cab) Than I use a fused distribution block, I use one that uses the maxi fuses. This way the 4 gauge can handle pretty much anything that will be hooked to it with in reason, and after mounting the amps I run 8 gauge from the distribution block to each amp. I've run a 200x2 PPI and a 150x2 alpine amp and a 250 watt cb linear off of this setup with no problems. As for splicing the speaker wires, it depends on how the basslink hooks into the system, if you have a aftermarket radio that has sub out rca jacks on it you could run rca cables directly into the sub. According to the owners manual for the bass link you can splice into the speaker wires if you have to use that form of a connection, here is a link to the owners manual not sure if it will work-http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Owner's%20Manual/BASSLINK%20om.pdf Good luck
