Subject: Carpeting A box IP: Logged
Message: I just built a box tonight for a l7 12.
I would like to carpet it but don't know how.
I was thinking about just painting it black
What have you guys done when you built boxes? What would you reccomend, and are there any sites on carpeting?

Message: I would suggest carpeting it.It is fairly simple, just spray glue, put the carpet on,then trim.If you paint instead, you may get a resonance from the wood, the carpet I have found to dampen the wood pretty well, good luck

Message: I used a 3M 77 spray adhesive. Most stereo shops use it for their carpeting. When you carpet, start at the front and try to get your seams in the rear of the box. overlap the seams by about an inch or 2. Then cut right through both down to the wood. Fluff it up and you shouldn't even notice the seam. Good luck

Message: Does wal mart have different colors besides that really light grey they have on all their boxes?? The box is just sitting on my backseat. How long did it take you to carpet your box?
I also took out my center console and built a box to hold my amps in place of it. I need to carpet that also.
