Message: take your new speakers and just screw them into the plastic ring that is on the old ones and screw the ring back into the door. you don't need to drill the ring just use an automatic screwdriver and screw screws into it.

Message: What I did was take out the OEM speaks and test fit the new ones to make sure they don't hit the window mechinism. What you then do is cut a ring that has the correct hole size for the new speaker and that is small enough to fit inside the mounting tabs on the old adapter. The thickness of this ring will be determined by how much depth you will need for the new speaks. Pre-drill holes into the new ring and old adapter where the holes on the speaker are. Mount the ring and speaker to the OEM adapter and use some sealant that is not silicone. Now mount the speaker and adapter as you normally would. I hope this helps, Nate

Message: Crutchfield sells a bracke that you can use, but you have to modify it in most cases, but a least you don't have to mod the Factory bracket...
