i got a 02 quad cab. i just got a RF Punch HE it's the 200 watt one. and a RF amp 290 watts. the sub is in a standard box in the feet area of the back seat, and the amp is under the driver's seat. i just got this and i LOVE having BASS in my truck. but....... i need more. this one sub doesn't play loud enuf to cover the factory tweeters! i can still take all the stuff back to the place that i got it from and get store credit. i am going to have to spend more but i'm thinking under $250. any sugestions would be great. i don't know what's good/loud/SQ. thanks

If you want more bass it's going to cost you. You get what you pay for. Why not go ahead & spend the money on a good mono-block amp & be done with it.

Loud and Bass are two different things, if you want loud get a ported box.. If you want more bass, or feel more hit get more power...

Are you willing to sacrifice your back seat? If so a large ported box with 2 subs is the way to go. If not you might consider just using a small ported box and the sub you have first.

JD - what is a "good" mono block amp?
tekmon - i think a want the ported -loud-. but i already have a the sub in a sealed box. so i would have to get a new box and if so would i need a different sub and amp? or would the same sub in a different ported box be louder?
Bigtymer - the box i have now is conected with quick conects so i can take it out when i need to carry four people. who makes a good ported box fo this sub. space in not a problem since i will take the sub out if i need the space anyway. if all i need is a new box, how hard is it to instal this sub in the new box. aka could i do it?
will i lose the bass i can feel now if i get a ported box? also, would a bigger box make a difference. and what about polyfill?
if i got two subs i a ported box would i need a new amp? cuz i know i can't take the seat out so i would have to pay for installation.

I'd get another sub like the one you have and buy a JBL 600.1 Get a ported box for the 12's and it'll knock pretty good.

The JBL 600.1 runs from 300-400,depending on who you know. If your budget insn't tight I suggest a 10" JBL GTI (400ish) and a JBL 1200.1 (450ish). I swere by the JBL amps. I bought mine when they first came out, a test rabbit for my friends radio shop. Also befor the price went up. I've had the 180.2 and the 600.1 for about 2 years now and not one problem. Just my 2 cents.

You should able to pick up a Memphis ST1000 for around $400.00 to $500.00. about half the price as a JL Audio 1000/1 & it hits just as good. Also pick up a pair of 10's or 12's & go with a sealed box & I believe you will like the results. thanks for the advice guys
i am going to get a second RF 10'in a sealed box.
i'm getting it for cheap
and as soon as i get the money i will look into getting a new amp.
so with two 200 watt RMS /400 watt max subs what size amp should i run?
should i get a mono amp and wire the subs parallel or in series or should i get a two channel amp?
and what wattage should the amp be?

Um...you can get a JBL.600 for under $200 shipped.
Try Ikesound.com
It will be perfect for the two HE's. Definately put them in a ported box, or you will be wishing for more.

Thats what I paid for mine from the shop. I didn't relize they were still 200 on line. Since I bought mine retail has gone up twice. I pay cost on things anyway,the joy of being good friends with someone that owns a shop.But its good to know that you can still get them at that price some where.

how does this place sell this stuff for so much less than every one else? and how important is that factory worranty? these aare the best prices. but if i do get the amp or sub from these people is there any one who could walk me through the instalation of the amp and a RF 10' 200 watt RMS single vioce coil ? i got a garage full of tools but i don't know what i need to do to get this kind of stuff working. it's late so if this doesn't make sense is cuz i sleepy. later

id go wit the jbl 600.1 and get 2 abahn aw1251q at cardiscountstereos.com these subs pound hard as hell i installes 1 in a civic with 300watt pushin it and it rattled the car and it only needs 1.40cu ft ported

if you want to be louder rebuild the box, if you want to get really loud go with some element design k-series 12's, or a resonant engineering xxx 12. For the RE XXX go with a 2.75cu ft ported box and push it with a JBL BP1200.1

i got the same sub still because of money problems
but i'm going to get a face plate first cuz the guy at the store said the the factory haed ounit wasn't giving enuf power to the amp
so $500 later i'll ask this question agian
