Subject: 8" Subs??!! IP: Logged
Message: So I have finally come to the point where I think I am going to just buy two 8" subwoofers for my 97 Dakota Reg. Cab. I think it will just be the best way to go. Am I going to be disappointed with 2 - 8" subs in my truck? Are they going to hit like I want them to (I know they aren't 10s but are they at least going to hit?)?
Here are a few other questions I have:

BASICALLY, what I am trying to find out is what is the best 8" sub on the market that will be ok with the airspace in my reg. cab truck? I don't have the power for the Kicker Square subs, but what about the JLs or other brands out there?

Message: What kind of power do you have? I have one solo-baric 8 in my RC running off about 280 rms that sounds awesome. You just have to be creative with the box design to get enough airspace.

Message: I purchased a pair Rockford Fosgate RFZ3408's 8" subs, built a pair of custom boxes that will go behind the rear seats of my '02 quad cab. I'm planning on running it on from a Rockford 250M. I am planning on installing it this weekend.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Message: Can anyone tell me the differnce between the two JL Audio 8" boxes that I listed above besides the shape of the box? Which one would be better sounding in my reg. cab truck?
Also, to clarify I have two channels left open on my 4 channel amp each producing 120watts, so I have a total of 240watts if i combine the channels. But I think I want at least two 8" subs.
