Message: I was just wondering if I put an MTX 6500D amp on my two 10" 6000's would it blow them to all hell or would it sound really good?...I would be running at 4 ohms...so I think it's like 500 watts rms if I'm not mistaken...I could be wrong though...I would run the 8000's but the magnets are wayyy too big for the thunderform...but oh well

Message: I just got some MTX Thunder 6000s 10"..I am going to buy that very same amp. I heard it at one of the local car shops here in Phoenix. It sounded awesome. I listened to many a subwoofer before deciding on the 6000s. I liked the Alpine V12 500 watt model and also the MTX. I think the MTX amps are underated and produce some pretty big sound. As for the Thunderform box, I decided to make my own. It cost me $20 for an 4x8 sheet of MDF (Lowe's will make the cuts for free if you dont have a saw). 15 bucks for the carpet. I am going to post pics on my site when I finish up. I couldn't see spendin 200 for a $20 box. The rear seats are functional and the cupholders are still on the side. You lose the compartments, which you lose with the thunderforn, but I have my jack, torque wrench, jumper cables, and misc behind the sub box. I should be done with the install in about 1 1/2 weeks. Here's a link. Sorry for the long post.
