Subject: Dynamat, Rammat. ?? which one IP: Logged
Message: Thinking of covering the rear of the CC Dak with some matting before putting in the new sub box. to maybe stop unwanted vibrations.
Which brand is best ?
Which brand is cheapest ?
Does brand really matter ?
Is there a Spray on product? there are a lot of irregular surfaces back there..

Message: Rammat is cheaper. You might also want to check out b-quiet. It's really cheap. Spray cans work where needed but the mat works best.

Message: make sure you have something that will hold up to your climate you live in... That b-quiet stuff will slide off in Georgia Heat...

Message: i would use raamat, or if you wanted to go even cheaper you could always do what i did and get non-granulated snow and ice shield and a heat gun. i did many many layers (8 in each door and 4 on the floor) in my whole truck for 50 bucks. 200 sq ft. have pics if your interested...rich49@fsuimail.ferris.edu

Message: thanks for the advice..
akaproph -> if the b-quiet slodes off in the ga heat, it probably won't even stick on in the fla heat.. maybe even melt or evaporate in the package before it gets here..
justin -> i never heard of or saw snow and ice shield, what is snow and ice ? i'll send an email want to see the pics..

Message: It's called brownbread and it's really good stuff but pretty dang expensive. Try looking in home depot or lowes for some stuff called peel and seal. It's in the section with roof patching and foundation coatings. Self adhesive asphalt with an aluminum backing. Like $8 for a roll. One roll will easily do 2 layers on both doors.

Message: I heard asphalt begins to smell like funk if your cab heats up in the summer. Perhaps it would be cool to have that "new road" air freshener.....

Message: OMG>>>> Sniper.... you in the military? The only place I even heard of Mc-Master Carr is in the tool crib at work. HUGE FREAKN CATALOG!!!! I'm amazed that anyone can find anything in it. Sheetmetal and Metal Tech shop has stock in the company(or they should by now!)... But ya, that works well
BIGTYMER My buddie used that stuff from Lowes and like the next day we had a typical missouri "people live like this?" heatwave with 100f,85% humity... fell right off the roof. Is there a trick to laying it or is it self explanitory

Message: I see this topic is kinda dead however I was looking at installing FatMat NoiseKiller in my car. I live in Arizona and in the summer it gets very hot in the car here. It is not uncommon for it to be 110 degrees at midnight here. Take any standard thermometer outside in the direct sunlight the temperature in June or so will fluctuate between 160 and 185. And inside the car it will fluctuate from 220 to 350. So does anyone know how well Dynamat, Rammat or Fatmat will hold up in this heat?
