 Subject: need recomendations!!

well im finally gonna be getting a system put in my dakota Quad Cab next week and have gotten three different options from three different audio stores. ill list each one and could u guys please give me your recomendation on which one you would recommend
#1 10' audiobahn 400 watt sub, 400 watt amp, box would go in the feet area of backseat, amp kit, top of the line alarm and front two power door locks=$600
#2 custom box built behind back seat housing 1 10' 150 watt Kicker Comp, 400 watt amp and kit, USA alarm, 2 power door locks=$600
#3 custom built box in the feet area of center back seat housing 1 10' 200 watt Rockford HE, 200 watt amp and kit, middle line alarm and front two power door locks=$800

btw, the store recommending #3 seems to be the most professional and talked badly about the audiobahn subs, but they were also the most expensive. what do u guys think of these subs???

sorry for all the posts but one last thing, for option #1 i could use either JL audio w3 or audiobahn, but the store recommended the audiobahn, just just let me know what u think

i believe in the first two options the amp was a DHD, not sure about the third, and the first alarm was a carsound which is top of the line, teh second was a USA Alarm, and the third didnt tell me the brand just said it was somewhere in the middle quality wise

tell u what, i say buy and adire audio brahma 10 for 350 at adireaudio.com then go to hypaudio.com and buy a jbl 1200.1 amp and a 4 gauge wireing kit. then go buy any alarm you want. i really don't like rockford or audiobahn. kicker is great but i would at least get a comp vr. if u would like i have a L5 12 and an older comp vr. i'll sell the comp vr in a box for 70 or the L5 which has never been used for 200.

You can buy a Rockford Fosgate amp for 300.00 or less that pushes 500 watts+ rms and a pair of either 8" or 10" RF subs in boxes for arouns 250.00 at Crutchfield.com
I bought the 401s amp and 2 HE2 8" DVC subs for 500.00 and they will pound you.

i'd go with the first option. i got a rockford 10' 400 watts max and a 400 watt rockford amp. it is loud enuf for me on the freeway with all the windows down.:) $600 is a really good price.

Go with the 2nd or 3rd choice. Audiobahn is not the greatest in my opinion.
The best idea is to get an alarm installed with the locks for about $150-$200.

well i think im gonna go w/ option 1 but w/ the JL audio 10w3 instead of audiobahn. in a few months ill build my own center console i just dont have the time to do it right now. they are only charging me like $35 for the box so i wont be losing a lot of money by getting rid of that in a while. im probably getting this installed on friday so i still have a couple days to hear any more opinions

I wouldn't use any of those options. DHD amps are about two steps above a pyramid and one below a jensen. About a $100 amp. The 10W3 is about $150 and the alarm is probably $130. The wiring kit you can get at walmart for $30 and the box you can get anywhere for $35.
I would honestly search around some more and fine some other options. The sub is ok but I would find a different amp and get your own wiring kit cause they are gonna use a 10awg maybe an 8 awg but the one from walmart that I mentioned is a 4 awg which would allow for a bigger amp down the road. I would seriosly consider getting a JBL 1200.1 You can get them for $275 shipped all day long. This amp will do 1400 watts at 2 or 1 ohm.

bigtymer is right. the jbl 1200.1 is awsome for the money. i actually think you can pick it up for 250 or 240 at hypaudio.com ang get an adire audio brahma or shiva

I OWN A 98 DODGE DAKOTA EXTENDED CAB 2DR, I RECENTLY BOUGHT A MTX THUNDERFORM CUSTOM BOX ($236) HOUSING TWO 10" DIAMOND AUDIO CM3 (RMS600 WATTS EACH) BUILT A CUSTOM PLEXI-GLASS COVER (SO THE KIDS CAN WALK ALL OVER IT WITHOUT DAMAGING) POWERED BY A 600W SONY EXPLODE 1 OHM STABLE AMP CONTROLLED BY A KENWOOD EXCELON D-MASK DETACH. OH YEAH ALSO REPLACED FACTORY WITH KENWOOD 6 1/2" (NO AMP) IT SOUNDS GREAT. ADVICE EXPLORE YOUR OWN FANTASY INSTALL AND THEN TAKE STEPS TO MAKE IT A REALITY.
