 Subject: 8's in doors????

Anyone running 8" mids in their doors?I want to get a 3 way component set,and do the 8's in the doors,I know the panel will have to be modified on the back side where it touches the area around the speaker hole.Any info would be appreciated.thanks,Todd(99 RT regular cab)

I had 2 RF punch XLC , Prett big speakers in my door for awhile ,I had to double up 3/4 mdf and bring them out , Also you will have to take the plasitc part of the door panel off . Like little shoot I guess you could call it ? thats platic melted to the door panel , They will fit but do have to make the plates out of mdf . I didnt have to cut the door at all to make them fit , But after putting in my CDT Braxials relized I didnt need 8's up front !

Thanks for the reply.I have diamond audio hex 6 1/2" mids there now,I'm replacing them with dynaudio 3 ways.So,its not like I dont have quality in there now,I just want a good quality 8 in the system somewhere,and thought the front stage would be the best place.I can imagine going from RF mids to the cdt,or anything else high end would make you not want an 8,but I think if you put a cdt 8,or other high end 8 there,you'd be loving it.:)

in my 01 i was able to stuff a jbl 800gti in the doors, just by cutting the hole bigger, the panel fits perfect. hit me back for more info or pics

there's all the depth u can ever want in there. the jbl's are hugh, but they go right in front of the window rail. when you cut the hole bigger u just need to move the hole foward and it works no prob. i'll send some pics man
