Subject: Alpine hu troubles... IP: Logged
Message: Took out stock cd player, put in Alpine CDA-7894 cd/mp3 player, and the radio plays fine, but no sound when cd plays. Also, there is a buzzing in the rear right speaker, and I've tried moving the dc converter line away from everything but it wont go away. Also, what do I do with the purple/yello wire and the black wire (says amp on it)? Thanks.

Message: K, got the buzzing to stop (wire was loose) but the cd player still won't work. Does it have something to do with remote turn on wire? Thanks.

Message: ya, if you have the infinity system, what is prob going on is your remote antenna lead from the HU is hooked up to the remote lead for the amp, thats why when you go to cd, that wire has no power going to it, your remte wire in the harness should be all blue, or blue and white...btw i just installed a pioneer in mine yestereday so colors are fresh in my head. black is usually ground, should hook to the factory ground that was on the back of the HU, mine had a little plastic connector on the end that snapped on the back of the factory HU, just cut that off and tie them together.....

Message: Okay, turns out that it was the remote antenna going into remote turn on, so what do I need to do (more specific is better)? I rehooked up the ground, now there is also a purple/yellow wire coming out that has a white/red connector at the end, what does this do? Thanks, i just want to get this working!

Message: i believe that purp/yell might be the mute wire for cellular mute option, my harness had that in it too, not the HU harness but the adaptor harness. i didnt connect that wire.... you need to find the remote wire, should be blue or blue/white coming out of the HU harness and blue in the adaptor harness, if you have the adapting harness........
