Message: Thanks for the suggestions.
I've read that Madonna has a lot of good music to test a system with. I was skeptical at first until I played the new song Die Another Day from the Bond movie. It pounds, and it's not gay wussy Maddonna crap.

Message: Madonna's stuff is really good for an all around system tester... plenty of low end and awesome vocals. Her recordings have great production work on them, very crisp and clean recordings.
but for serious LOW bass I suggest:
Techmaster PED - Bass Computer
Dynamix II - You Hear It, You Feel It
These are both "old skool" cuts from the late 80s when car audio comps were really starting to take off. They are just bass mixes/techno stuff... no rappin' to get in the way :) they pretty much set the standard for what "bass" music is and have been heavily copied over the years. Check out the reviews at Amazon.com
If you really want to know what LOW bass is all about get an Audio Control Epicenter, you'll hear stuff you never knew was there before :o

Message: Almost any kind of music if PRODUCED well will pound!
However, the absolutely BEST bass testing song I have EVER used, and will ABSOLUTELY KILL your amp/subs is OLD Pink FLoyd especially the song "Welcome to the Machine" from the 1975 album "Wish you were here".
That song has about a 5 minute CONTINUOUS LOW A$$ BASS NOTE that is BAD a$$ over ALL!
Another one by them is from the 1973 (and best seller out of any band I think even Micheal Jackson) album "Dark side of the moon". The intro to "Breathe" fades in with a REALLY LOW ~heartbeat~ that from what I remember you could only hear with HEADPHONES back in the day it was produced. On most systems you will hear the bass drum kick but not the underlying VERY LOW heartbeat that goes along with it.
Try downloading the mp3's and try them yourselves. Post here with what you think. Pink Floyd used to be the LEADERS in sound quality and invention. i.e. they used their brains to come up with the sounds they used in the early 70's, one of the first to use a synthinsizer, and one of the first bands to record all digital ("Momentary lapse of Reason").
I thought TECHMASTER (which I had several of when I was in my younger 20's) was WEAK for being some RIPPED UP SAMPLES and even EMBARESSING to get caught listening to in public. I don't care much for rap myself. I like real music too much to like some ripped off samples that someone TALKS over. I can make that sh!t using my own compter, my Soundblaster Live card and my 256 track program.
Well, enough of that. Just download "Welcome to the machine", a good copy. BTW actually the 1st few minutes of the intro starts in the previous track on the CD so if you just download that song you will miss the first few minutes of the continuous bass but it's still enough to do the trick! Crank it up and see how long your amp plays!
