Hi-
I've been saving up for some car audio equip. lately, and will be installing all of it on Christmas day. Here is what I have: Alpine CDA-7894 MP3/cd player, thunderform with image dynamics idq10, and a JL Audio 500/1. My questions are 1)What screws should I use to mount my amp underneath my seat and 2)Are there any suggestions/tips to make this easier? Thanks,
Greg D.

For Screw just use 1in-1 1/2in self-tapping screws.

BUT CHECK TO SEE WHERE THE SCREWS ARE GOING TO COME OUT.

that way you don't hit gaslines, electrical, etc

if i were you and this what I did, take to metal strapping. and drill a hole in it as big as the seat Bolt..I think it was a 3/4in bolt and then attach the amp to the strap with a nut and bolt.

it very secure and holds the amp in very well..

Shoot me an email if you want pictures..

NO SCREWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DakotaMan2002,
Are you Nuts? Living in Mass. you of all people should know the dangers of exposed bare metal on the bottom of a vehicle, especially during the winter with all that salt on the roads. In a few years there will be rot holes in the floor the size of Prudential building!

GregD,
You don't want to be drilling holes in your floor. Do you really want that? Not to mention that your PLASTIC gas tank is sitting right below the drivers seat. Can you say "Car Fire"? Just use some Velcro to hold it in place. Trust me, it will never move once the Velcro seats itself, but for the love of GOD........NO SCREWS!

Thanks guys-
So what is the best way to mount an amp underneath a seat then? If I use velcro, is that going to ruin the bottom of my amp? Thanks!

I didn't screw holes into my floor. I use metal strapping INSIDE the cab and bolted the amp to the seat....I didn't like the idea of putting holes in my floor plus there was too much stuff in the way anyway...

sorry for the confusion...
