Message: If you are in an area where there are a lot of breakins it is not a good one to have. Im pretty sure it isnt detachable is it? I live in topeka kansas and anyone who doesnt detach their face gets there player jacked. That hide crap it does doesnt work. They know there is a kameleon behind it.
If you live in a small town then I think they look real tight and they put out some good sound too.

Message: Does insurance cover that though??? I don't have any idea. Regardless, when someone jacks your player that don't take time to unscrew your dash and neatly unhook your deck. Lil punks usually break out the window then treat your dash the same way. I have seen an entire dash broke off. So not only do you have to get a new player you have to have your dash replaced. And why go through all the trouble and hte cost of a deductable when all you have to do is get a player with a detachable face. Pretty smart investment for someone in my area.
Food for thought

Message: Thanks for the help I live in Milwaukee wisconsin. I don't know about where you guys live but here they steal anything even if the faceplate is detached they'll steal it. My car got broken into three weeks ago for 1.25 in change and three pieces of gum. they didn't even bother opening my glove compartment, if they did they would have found a motherload of burned cd's. Thanks for the opinions again.

Message: Wow 1.25 and a piece of gum, that is low. You would really want to consider a garage in that area.
And about the insurance. I thought it covered things like fender benders, hit and runs, and moving related accidents. I didn't think theft was in there too. I had better hold on to all my receipts then. Save me a lot of money.

Message: Why waste the money on a El Kamilion or a remvoeable face. Just buy an Eclipise head unit & if someone does steal there F*** anyway. Because once the head unit loses power unless you have the key CD to unlock it it's unless. And if it's stolen within the frist year Eclipse will replace it free of charge.

Message: Just make sure your comprehensive deductible is really low though. If it is high then you wouldn't be able to claim it.

Message: No Eclipse isn't over rated. You pay for what you get. I sure don't see Kenwood(or any other car audio comoany) making a ofter like Eclipse does. Which is a 3 year warrenty or if their head units are stolen within the frist year they'll replace it free of charge. Also unless you've owned an Eclipse product. How can you say their over rated. You must of not been around car audio to long, cause if you had then you would know that alot more Eclipse gets used more then Kenwwod ever thought abot in competion sound offs!! Ask anywood that has Eclipse or has owned it & I'll think you'll find that most people like their Eclipse products.

Message: Eclipse decks skop alot because they use a narrow band laser instead a wide band like most....in theory, it gives them better SQ, but makes them muhc more vulnerable to skipping and not reading scratched cd's......HU's are the only Eclipse product i'd run though, the rest don't quite stack up......

Message: If your stuck on JVC go w/ the KD-Sh99 Much better unit. MUCH better sounding. And as for Eclipse Not every Crack head knows or gives a $hit about if its going to work or not. Kenwood Excleon is a Awsome set of HUs I have an Alpine 7998 Phantom face and it is the best damn HU ive ever had. Plus when you get jacked its prob one of your punk friends any way that knows you have a kenwood,JVC, or alpine hide away face so they will jack it any way. you take that risk when you dump $850 in to a HU. www.sounddomain.com/id/axmiller
