Sorry if this question is a dime a dozen, but....
I have the infinity stereo (well I did, but now I just have the speakers) and I was thinking of getting some infinity replacements, the 6.5" 3 way Kappa's. My question is will these work fine or are they too much for my 50W x 4 JVC radio? and what would be some good replacements for the 1" tweeter deals?

thanks

Don't put three ways in the front, go with the Kappa Components ( Mid-Bass $ Separate Tweeter) you'll love the sound, I do. And upgrade the rears to 6x9 speakers.

Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.

I agree with Mike above - put the components in up
front... who cares what's in the back, it's not like you've
got Dolby Surround sound to worry about. If you do put
something in back the 6.5 2-ways would be a good choice,
forget 3-ways.

Thanks for the reply guys, now I have a couple more questions.

You say go with the Infinity Components, which exact speakers are you reffering to? And is there any other brands I should consider? I'm not really stuck on any certain brand, I just want something that sounds good.

Now why aren't the 3 ways any good?
just curious.

And my last question, In my Club Cab, I have (was told I have) 6.5" speakers in the rear. Would 6x9's actually bolt right up, or would I have to do some modifications?

I agree components in the front. I would however change to an amp to power these. Even something small like a 35x2 is better than powering them off the headunit. The rears coax are just fine and running them off the headunit still is fine. Thus they are called "rear fill" Stock are 6 1/2's but a 6x9 would fit with some cutting. Heck an 8 would fit if you wanted it.

Infinity Kappa Series, Clevite I thought you had a quad. I replaced the rears in my quad with infinity 6x9s, I had to make a spacer out of mdf the size of the mount bracket for the 6x9. Then center the speaker over the existing hole, drill pilot holes, spray some rust preventative over the holes, mount them up, and finally seal them up real good. I used door & window caulk. I forgot to mention the spacer will have to be 1/2 or 3/4 thick.

2 way compents have a smoother sound in my opinion, the 6x9 woofer handles mid-range just fine. Especially if they are going in the rear 3-ways will produce highs that will take away from the frontal staging. Go listen to the difference and you'll see what we are talking about. Any other questions, just ask, in case I forgot to mention anything.

Hey Michael, thanks a lot, just a couple more now LOL. Should I go with a sub style 6 1/2" in the back for lower frequency? or should I just get 2 pairs of the 2 way 6 1/2? and what about the 1" speaker? leave it or do you have a better suggestion?

sorry for all the questions. I know this is getting old, but I do appreciate it

Go with the 2-way 6 1/2. Then put the one inch in the factory location. I would check into 6x9s though.

Ok sounds cool for the fronts, but for the rears I really don't want to cut or drill anything, I did that route when I was a kid, and I'd rather have the worst sounding radio in the world as opposed to hacking it up. Thanks for your input.
