Subject: Thunderform question IP: Logged
Message: Hi, I need help. I'm planning on picking up a MTX Thunderform soon and was wondering what amp you guys were using.
I've read that the T6000s that come in the box are overrated and not to put 250W per sub to the box---is this true?
I know some people prefer the JL Stealthbox or putting different subs in the MTX, but I've used MTX speakers before and I like them, but I'm no expert. And I just want to make sure that these new MTXs are comparable to the ones I've used in the past.
Thanks for any help.

Message: when I first bought mine I was pushing them with a MTX 4202...it wasn't very many watts but damn it sounded nice...now I upgraded the subs to the 8000's and I'm pushing them with the MTX 6500D

Message: I have the thunderform with the 2 6000's pushed by an MTX 4202. The systems sounds great. I also have a kendwood excelon head unit with 10 disc changer and an alpine V12 4 channel amp running the 4 speakers in the doors. the MTX box in my opinion is the way to go, very clean install and great sound on all types of music
