The amp in the seat is $500 plus. and if I do that and want to change amps im screwed

that is wayyyyyy over priced....it doesn't take more than 2-3 hours to do...so even at 100/hr, it shouldn't be more that $2-300....sounds alot like the shop doesn't know how to do it, so they quoted a super high price so you'd leave......
