Subject: 6x9 question IP: Logged
Message: I'm thinking of removing the 6 1/2 speakers from the back side panels of my ExtCab and installing 6x9 in their place. My object is to have a little more bass. I don't want to use any speaker boxes in the back under the seats. Will this help with bass or is it not worth the change?

Message: Thanks for the info. Did you cut the opening in the sheet metal to fit or did you find some kind of adaptor?

Message: You don't have to cut into the sheet metal, you just have to make a spacer out of mdf for the 6x9. Center the speaker over the 6 1/2 opening, drill your pilot holes and spray some rust preventative then mount them up. The spacer should be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and be sure to seal them u
