Message: the magnets usually have the ohms rating on them.see what your amp is capable of handling.if it is possible to run it as a mono block.it would tell you.I wouldn't try to run a legacy hard. they are not made for it.it will only get hot and kick off.make sure you run 4guage wire minimum with that amp, or you will be blowing fuses,I wouldn't go any furthur than just bridging that amp also.run at 4 ohm

Message: How are you "blowing" these speakers!!! I've had mine for a while, and not even come close! I've only blown a few speakers......All of these were when I was 10 and I played music as loud as I could on my dads stereo.
.......Man, my butt still hurts from that.

Message: are the 12 inch subs your talking about have a shinny red face to them and are rated at 1000w max. cuz those do blow easy that is why if you are going to go with volfenhag get there daul coil subs or "comp" sub these bad azz subs are rated at 1200w max and are neerly impossible to blow unless you have a seriosly strong amp. also a good thing about volfenhag in general is that it does not take a hugh amp to push them. they will preety much give back what you give them if you know what i mean. i personally have two 12inch "comp" seriose with a custom ported box hooked up to a 760 pioneer and i out hit two 12 inch alpine type S's with a 500?1 alpine amp and that made me feel preety good about my system.

Message: Where I live, you can only get those speakers in the pawnshops. I have been told by the car stereo gurus to "stay away from them, that they are absolute junk!!! That is why Wal-mart doesn't even carry them!!" I myself am a huge fan of JBL speakers. I once had apair of 15's that couold take way more than the rated power. To each his own though. I am currently runnin a single 12" Pioneer Premier in my Quadcab and it has just the right amount of base for Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King right on through to any Slayer or Sepultura I might feel like playing.

Message: Ok. I have a LOT of experience in the car audio field. Volfenhag has some wonderful stuff for the money. I bought a used one from a friend of mine. It had a blown voice coil and I got the thing for 10 bucks. I put it in a Q-Logic box and didnt even bother to silicone it to seal it up tight.(Who cares? It was $10!) I then found one of my OLD Alpine amps that was laying around and hooked it up. So on one voice coil and about 250 watts from the Alpine, in a sealed (not-so-sealed) box, I was thouroughly impressed. I put it in a 1994 Jeep Cherokee and it out hit my friends 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with a Coustic 600 watt amp and two Dual subwoofers in a sealed box. I know vehicle makes a difference, but I did both installs and know that the one Volfenhag was really working to be able to pound that hard. They are made mainly for SPL at a cheap price, not high SPL and SQ. So you morons that come in here and talk about all these other forums that you read and think you learned something about, you guys need to screw off. All you have learned is either from the forums and DIY sites and Wal-Mart brand stuff. For the money, I would hands down recommend these subs for entry level systems. To give you an idea, I would compare them to Audiopipe, RE Audio, Fusion, and Audiobahn. In most instances, the Volfenhag would kick their asses, but they are comparable. So, to whoever buys Volfenhag, enjoy!

Message: Anyone who bashes on Volfenhag is most likely upset that they paid many hundreds of dollars more for other namebrand subwoofers etc. because the volfenhag equip. can perform almost as close or better than many other set ups for a lot less of the cost. I am not saying Volfenhag is great because i know some people have had some problems with them and the crafstmanship of them but also Volfenhag stuff is not to bad.
Meanwhile others need to defend their classy brands because they paid $5,000 for a setup that does not much more if anything more than a complete volfenhag set up for around $500 to $800 dollars

Message: i used to work at an audio shop that sold them...
first the red ones have a one piece alum. cone which is really nice! but they have a rather small voice coil with not a lot of excursion. so they dont handle much-power! and definitely dont put those in a ported box your just gonna break it. now i am at a shop thats an alpine dealer. i have worked at mickey shorr, car tunes, kruzers automotive, expert audio, audio trends, hollywood sound, and american van. i yeah send it back to germany!!!
