Subject: Stock speaker placement IP: Logged
Message: I am looking into install a decent stereo system. I have a 1992 regular cab truck. I am not too worried about the door speakers because that's where speakers are in most cars and nothing is blocking them. But where the speakers are behind the seats is where I am concerned. If I put in subs, won't the subs and boxes cover those speakers and muffling and distorting the speakers? Has anybdy relocted those speakers? Everything will be amplified if that helps you any. Not a lot, total going to them will be 19rms from the stereo and about 50 from the amp.
Thanks

Message: You will never hear the speakers in the rear side panels behind the seats, I push 22 watts RMS going to each 5-1/4" speaker and the front speakers drown them out. I have 2 Kenwwood tweeters on the dash, 2 6-3/4 Kenwoods in the front doors powered by a Kenwood CD Player, 22 watts RMS per channel 45 peak and a 300 watt RMS Kenwood amp 600 peak pushing 2 8" Rockford Fosgate HE2 Dual Voice Coil Subs behind the seats of my regular cab. It Thumps The 5-1/4" speakers still play but for what reason I don't know.
