Subject: Air leaking through my stock tweat!! IP: Logged
Message: hell man, I was just riding down the street with the heat on (47 here in DE) and I'm feeling this steady cold breeze coming right... well it's coming straight out of my "infinity" stock tweet grille..what gives? ... It's nightime so I didn't check my weather strip but it's a 00' R/T so I cant imaging it's deteriorated. Anybody ever had this problem?

Message: Yes, I notice cold air leaking thru my switch panel on the door. Your truck is not air tight, and some cold air may come in.

Message: Well after looking at the door the only thing I could tell was that the air may possibly be coming in from the bay through the wire grommet .. I know that sounds wack but I cant see any other place air could force it's way in while the door was shut. If thats the case I may just fill the grommit with insulating foam, I'll have to find something soft/pliable when it dries but there's something out there for this application.

Message: Sure you can use some clear silicone (the same stuff they use to seal windows). You can get it at most auto parts stores for $2 or so. Works on lots of stuff, and doesn't make a mess.

Message: Vehicles are designed with a vent system in them so fresh air continuously circulates through the cab even with the air on the dash tunred off. It's a safety feature to help keep fumes out of the cab of the truck. Ther are also drain holes in the bottom of each door which is probably were the cold air is coming in at and the natural pull of air through the cab is sucking it in through the doors.
