i have read alot of $hit about you guys and mtx and other crap subs. not to offend anyone. but if u really get into research you find that there are amazing subs that pound harder and are cheaper buy far than mtx. I will let you in on the best sub. it is an adire audio brahma. it is in 10's 12's 15's and 18's. these subs have a 2inch x max for 10's all the way up to a 3.5 inch x max for the 18. these subs handle 1600 rms for the 10 and i think over 2000 for the 18. get them at adireaudio.com so to let you know the 10's are like 300 and the 12's are 350 i think. look for yourself. you can see videos at some audio forums of the 3 inch x max which is amazing. most subs are 20-30 mm the brahma is 72 mm. that is almost 2 inches over any sub. enjoy this info and ask any questions you have. stop wasting money on the crap subs that are supposedly good cause best buy or an audio shop sells them. Most of u only buy big name subs that suck. u only get them due to popularity by teenagers who usually have no clue. i am not saying all teens have no clue. i am 17. most kids drop off their cars and have some a$$ do a sh1tty install. anyways i am done with this go buy real subs.

Ok.....thats great and all, but most people dont have the money to power those properly. 1600 RMS? A lot of these people are teens, but they dont need to be putting in a competiton level system. MTX is what fits their budget. And 1 12" for 350 IS NOT cheap for someone in their teens. _KrEzEr_

Okay Dak, you sounded like you just learned about Adire Audio and wanted to show off your knowledge.
Brahmas are atleast one of the 3 top subs IMO. They sound well with only 400-500 watts RMS FYI. If you want a less powerful one, try the Tempest or Shiva. A Shiva will sound as loud as two MTX 6000's. It will easily beat one 8000, and still be cheaper.
A Brahma has a 27-29 mm linear x-max. You are right that this is much higher than most subs, but its not 72 mm. Maybe peak to peak suspension.
The 18" is not out yet.
I happen to own two Tempests and they are unbeatable for the price.
So, quit approaching this issue with such a smartass attitude. You are right, TO AN EXTENT, but just recommend these subs. Adire is a low-level company and I want to keep it that way to keep the prices low.

i will agree that most mtx stuff isnt too great. but not everyone is going to go from a 50 dollar sub to a 400 dollar sub. adire is just starting to grow and will be as popular as DD,JL,Orion or many others in a few years. The shivas would be ideal for ppl to put in their thunderforms(they fit 12's right?) but most ppl will stick with what came in the box to begin with or because MTX makes the box.
to joe_himself- i think i would put up an 15" brahma vs. a 15 HCCA, both will be loud and have some real good SQ. i would like to see that comparison done w/ similar boxes and power.......peace

Me too.. I have the IDQ DVC v.2 D4 and they are great. And I've been through my share of subs. My IDQ's are some of the best I've used.

Uhh do IDQs hit as solid as SOLOs Its a diffrent speaker IDQs are SQ/SPL subs L7s are just SPL subs

How do you figure they are totally differnet. They both supposed to be SPL monsters and still have very good SQ. A 9515 in a 3 cube box tuned to 35hz has excellent sound quality and I've seen this exact setup off 1 1000 watt amp do a 150 and with 4K do a 155. These were simple installs not pure SPL creations either. I'll have to go get some stats and I might can find what the highest SPL in a non extreme car is from a single 9515.
Well the original solo barics the c and d series both round were designed to be used as SQ subs. They would however get pretty dang loud. I've seen and done installs with solo barics and IDQ's and they sound about the same for SQ but the solo's were louder. They are just a bigger sub and held more power. We actually used solo's in a dbdrag car. We had to put bags of ice on the cones to cool the coils but after the 1st comp we held the NC state record for our class and were louder than the world record by .5 db's. If we were at a triple point event we would have had the world record.

I have seen the Brahma's in bassoffs and they got blown away by both the JL W-6 and the MTX 8000. So by that i know they wont stand a chance against the W-7's(but aren't real affordable)
I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Have any of you even heard a tempest? im not trying to be smart im not trying to make anyone look stupid. but a tempest will hit 171 decibels with 750 watts power. i'd like to see any other sub on the planet hit that. ANY period. how do ya like that.

Ha! Maybe fifteen of them in a closed chamber. Or a single one measured close-miked.
I swear, Adire Audio is the latest "Fad" brand, just like MB Quart was a few years ago.
