Hey Drew. I do not have the box but looked at putting it in my 01 Dak Sport at one point. It depends on how much money you have to spend and how much bass you want. The MTX thunderforms, another option to fill the back, in my opinion are just pieces of overpriced plastic. They give you nothing! But if you just want some bass and dont care about how it sounds, you might wanna try the thunderforms. The JL box is great for clean, crisp bass. If you dont want a huge amount of bass, you might wanna try the JL box with a W3 V2 in it....I think it would sound good. I think the Thunderforms sound like crap.....but that is just how I see it. Another option is to go custom, if you have the money and want the bass. But I would go with the JL over the MTX any day....._KrEzEr_

JL makes the very best car audio. Most people on this site don't want to pay for it or anything for that matter i.e.(bazooka tubes, sony and pioneer head units, thunderform) I agree with Krezer I don't like the sound of the thuderform, but in all fairness it was hooked to crappy equipment.

I have never heard either of the two boxes but I do know a thing or 2 about subs and I can tell you that JL subs will DEFINATLY outperform anything MTX will ever make, and I know this from personal experience. They are top end subs
but I will say that 2 10's will out boom 1 8" no matter what brand, so If your looking for sond quality go with the JL's

Mt Thunderform with two 10" IDQ DVC subs in it sounds awsome. I've had people ask me if they were 12's before because of the sound they put out. Pretty clear as well. The biggest thing is the equiptment you use to drive the subs. A POS deck or cheap amp will cause the subs to sound bad. Also, I woudl get the unloaded thunderform and fill it with the subs of your choice. the MTX subs aren't the greatest for sound quality as other have noted, but the box itself is just fine. Will sound a lot better, when using the proper parts, than any single 8" sub any day.

What decent subs will fit in the Thunderform enclosure? I would like one of these but from what I hear, the mounting depth would have to be pretty shallow. Will any of the JL's fit?

Not sure if any of the JL's will fit or not. If its' just a little too deep you coudl always put a spacer or something to lift the sub up a little. Image Dyanamics make a really good sub that fits good.

97_blk_dak, I am looking at the thunderform as well with some JL subs. I found that u can fit 2 10" W6s. I was hoping to do W6v2s but they are to deeep. but 2 w6s will definetely pump it with the right amp. Im gonna use the Jl 500/1.
Has anyone heard the thunderform? is it strong to support the clean Jl subs?

I believe that the jl stealthboxes are engineered for the 8w6 and that you will get better quality of sound out of that box than any other. I can not prove this yet but I am going to get one and I will let you all know about what i think.

Get the unloaded Thunderform from Jonas and put Kicker Comp VR Subs in it. Don't waste your money on a Stealthbox. JL Audio is overpriced and overrated. I've had tons of compliments on my Thunderform with the MTX 6000's. It's all on how you have it set-up. Also, keep in mind this is a small enclosure. A good head unit and amplifier with a propper bass boost setting is key. I've heard Comp VR's in this enclosure also, they outperformed my 6000's, but I installed everything.

I like the MTX personally, I haven't used JL before but I've heard it's nice. If ya give the thunderform a 6500D to power it you wont be disapointed!!!

If you want a stealth box with more bass than a plastic one, and don't want to pay alot check out my boxes on ebay. they house (2) 10" or 12" subs you can mount them as deep as 6 5/8" and each chamber is approx .65 cu inches. There is also a middle tray to house your amp which is 20 inches long by 11 inches wide by 4 inches deep. I have sold over 10 of these. I also have a clubcab and needed one for myself. I am askin 150. Just my 2 cents.
