 Subject: How do I get the power wire to the amp?

In previous vehicles I've had there has been a plug to run wires from the cab to the engine with out drilling a hole. But I can't seem to find one in my dakota. If someone could let me know if I have to drill a hole or there is a better way to run the cable that would be great!

Driver side on the firewall there is going to be a hole were other wires run thro.. jam it right through there.. thats where i put mine..

If its a Gen3 Dak
On the Passnger Side of the Firewall.
There is a groment about 3/4in big.
Pop out the Black groment and its big enough for 4 gauge wire..

mines gen 3 and i used the one on the drivers side.. i will have to look for the one on the pass side.. figure going thro driver side will save you some wire from going from driver side all way to pass side..

On a '98 DAk STL CC, I found the factory wiring harness area was to filled and hard to get through.
I managed to get a single 4ga. through the same gromet/hole as the Auto-trans shifter cable.

im with tekmon on this one, i did the same thing on my 97 club cab 4x4 auto this past weekend with my amp, i used 8 ga on mine, but had plenty for 4 ga, and 2 ga. so, good luck man

where the steering colum or what ever it is goes through the firewall. i got 0 ga. through it.
