Subject: mtx thunderform IP: Logged
Message: i have 2 10in mtx 6000s located in a mtx thunderform box under the rear seat of my 99 r/t when you are standing outside my truck it sounds pretty distorted and i was wondering if i drill some ports holes in the box if it would sound better

Message: How does it sound inside? If it doesn't sound distorted inside, I wouldn't worry about how it sounds outside.

Message: Don't drill port holes, the box is to small and you will loose your bottom end bass. You probably just need more power and/or lower crossover point.

Message: Don't drill holes in a T-form. You'll loose low end. Have seen too many speakers (not just car audio) that weren't ported correctly or boxes that shouldn't have been ported with poor bass response. My T-form sounds fine outside the truck, theres not as much bass as I'd like out there with the windows closed because the truck is built to keep sound out of the cab...therefore sound won't come out of the cab very easily either.
