Message: Are you talking about plexiglass? Looks like glass but can be black or different colors.
or vinyl wrapped boxes, fiberglass coated boxes that are painted, etc....

Message: You can get them on ebay, they are more difficult to make. Cutting plexiglass is a bit more difficult since it tends to chip, and securing two pieces together is a whole other issue.

Message: I am not exactly the omnipotent box maker, but I do have some insight on plexi glass......and I think there are some mis-conceptions about it on this board. First up, I tried pursuing putting my two JL subs in a downfiring box with plexi a window and the amps flushed on top. I soon found out plexi is EXTREMLY expensive. The only way your going to be able to buy it is through consumer car audio sellers or in car audio magazines...which I dont know much about the plexi they sell. IF you do get a plexi box, I think a car audio dealer buys it for about 300 a sheet. THAT is just for the sheet of plexi, and it has to be in a full sheet and they cut it down. If I were to get a box, painted to match my dak, plexi window, two downfiring subs, and amps flushed on top it would be about 1200 or 800 without the paint. It is more expensive if you want to use thicker plexi, which you do want to use. Second, I am guessing if you dont know what plexi glass is called, you most likely dont know how to work with it. Maybe you do.....so I am not trying to offend anyone. BUT, unless your pro at boxes, plexi is frickin impossible to work with.....and insanely priced. To my knowledge there is a special machine or something to that extent that cuts it. Your not going to be able to take a hack saw to it. EVEN if you do get a sheet that you would not have to cut, you gotta have time, money, and knowledge about attaching it to a box. If you can do this, it look awesome......More power to you if you get it or make it...esp with the neons, thats just awesome. If you want one made for you custom, go to a good dealer. There is this website that specializes in full plexi boxes....I cant remember the name. They can SET you up with everything.....I will post it on here later. Well, thats all I know _KrEzEr_

Message: Here is the website: www.gatelyaudio.com VERY nice boxes and expensive.....Here is an example of one: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/myseats/lst?.dir=/Stereo+Pics&.view=t
And Neil....Never ever use plastic to make a window for a box. There is no cheap way around this...either you go all the way or you do nothing at all.
