Subject: Speaker Box? IP: Logged
Message: Perhaps what I am trying to do is just way too over the top and ridiculous and that is why I cant find any information about it on the internet, but perhaps somone here may have see this somwhere and can tell me where I can get info and help with it. I am attempting to build a speaker box that will sit in the bed of my truck (I have a cab-high cap on the back) with the speakers facing the cab. removing both the rear window of my truck and the front window of the cap and using a compression boot between the two. The 4 10"s that I am mounting in the box should fit in the window. Has anyone seen anythin like this before or know where I can find specs????

Message: You might check out some car audio magazines, SPL trucks in particular. Auto Sound and Security is a big one. They have a website, but not sure of the address.

Message: The subs will be in a box in the bed, is that what you are saying? If so, removing the rear window of the truck and the cap window shouldn't be a problem. They do have boots to go in between your cab and the cap. I work in an accessory shop and deal with caps everyday. This does sound different, but can work if done the right way. Will require a lot of wire!lol. Good Luck!

Message: wisdom; check out this link. The main requirment for good output is following the internal volume requirements. The box your sub came in should have these specs on it, or maybe the manual that came with it.

Be sure to pre-drill your screw holes, like the guide says, the MDF does split easily, and use plenty of glue and run a good bead of silicone on the inside on all the seams, especially on a sealed box, you want it air tight.
