Ok,since i can't get subwoofers(don't ask why, dumb parents), i might be looking to replace my 6 1/2 inch Infinity Reference i bought long ago, although i like these speakers, i'm wanting some bass and also good the characteristics of a good speaker...any ideas?

just bs with the parents.. mine didn';t' want me to have subs, so i talked em into getting me 2 punch xlc 8's i a nice box that looked stock. they said ok, then i waited a year and now i have 2 L7 solobaric 12's

tony, thats pretty nice what did you use on the top of the box to make that bend? I did some curved enclosures a while back and had to use 1/4" plywood and soak it with a water hose and it then it was pretty flexible.

Where did you put the L7's.. I have (4) CompVr 10's now but looking to convert to (2) L7 12's.

tekmon, as odd as it sounds, i don't like people sitting in back of me, so i took out my 40 and 60 seats outta my Qc and layed the box down with the speakers facing up, and the amp laying beside it, i wouldn't consider it custom so i had no need for pictures. eventually i want to get another 40 seat to replace the 60 seat, and build a box that sits between the 2 rear seats. till then i have a 2 seater Qc.

oh and the 2 8's xlc's were in my old 95 dakota x-cab, i had the L7's in there after the 8's and once again i didn't want people sitting behind me so i took out the foldding seats and layed the box down, thus giving me a 2 seater x-cab.

i am not really worried about theves cause i have full coverage and a lot of ammo. i am only running one L7, i am pushing it with a kicker zr 360, it's not bad but i want a bigger amp, i am looking at getting a memphis 500 on each sub. the other L7 is sitting in my room (mobile one was getting rid of their kicker line and i knew the manager and got the last 2 L7's, box, and grills fer 144 total, couldn't pass that up). the only problem was i blew the voice coil on em, and 6 subs later (all in one year) i haven't had a problem...Yet. other then that i like em, smooth sound and carries pretty good.

well since i just blowup my tranny, i'm now getting a custom MDF in the ex-cab. i think it shouls fit after i mover the seats up about 2 in. haha any ways alfsonci has a bitchen set of 6 1/2 with a cross over for the tweete's

I say to just get them. you win either way. They are right and you go deaf so you cant hear them nag you, or you dont go deaf and your right. I have 3 JL 12W6's in my truck with 1300+ watts just going to them( actual rating, not the MAX POWER most companies put on their amps)and i can still hear fine.

for those of you with nagging parents if you have a tonneau cover and a lock (cheap investment if you dont) put a system in the bed and tell them you just want to hear your music when youre outside of the truck...

I didn't care what my parents said. It's my truck and I can pay for the subs, then I can get them. I went ahead and did it. I asked my mom the day I got them if she could here me coming. She said that she could feel me more than hear me. LoL. I love subs!

I have some Alpine Type R components in my truck and I really like them. If you use the right amp they give you some decent base.
