Subject: Gibson Exhaust not enough backpressure? IP: Logged
Message: Hey Guys,
I'm currently lifting and loading my truck. I've settled on the Airraid intake producing 11hp on my 4.7 (04 quad 4x4). My question is on the exhaust. I love the dual side exit exhaust by Gibson, but with that much going out, will that decrease my power by not having enough backpressure? I want the rumble, but also not at the expense of performance. Ideas?..thanks.

Message: You should be fine - the problem isn't so much back pressure but being better to keep exhaust velocity up - and there's plenty of narrower pipe ahead of the Gibson set up for that. I'm pleased with their single sweptside on mine, nice straight thru muffler design.
