Message: Hey, adam,
check out "groupbuys" for the superchip tuner. Its a "plug in and play" deal. They are for a good deal, but only til friday they usually cost about $400. you can change parameters, speed governor, rev limiter would work good with the mods you have already, you can also change back to stock if you want to take a trip to save on gas mileage too! check it out. *just FYI* **NOT FOR 04 MODELS**

Message: How come my SC tuner, as well as everyone one I know or heard of with one, with a 4.7, can't change the rev limiter with theirs? It says something like 'not an option' or something like that, when you install it thru the OBD2.
After seeing my dyno with my mods, I don't want to move it up anyway. Yea, it will make it thru 6 grand no problem, but the torque curve says it pulls much harder, i.e.-acceleration (sp?), down around 3-4. So while someones going to there rev limiter, I"m shifting around 5-5.5, (manual tranny), staying in the torque curves optimum range and .....
Adam, just save your money on the exhaust and intake, and get the tuner. Oh yea, you already changed the sound by changing your exhaust.
I'd have to look it up, but I calculated, using a low estimate of drivetrain loss of only 18%, that at the crank, I was making over 265hp, and over 360 ft/lbs of torque! Dyno proven, not a guess.
PS-my mods to include, but are not limited to:
a homebrew 'true' CAI, and removing my third main cat. People have dynoed various 'cat backs' and intake's on the 4.7, show me one that has that 1 mod as the only objective variable, before and after, that made more than 1 hp max.

Message: Most bang for the $ - HO cams. What year is your 4.7 ? You might do better with a PCM flash than the superchips tuner if one is available for your year.
