Subject: Cold wheather belt noise!! IP: Logged
Message: How do I get rid of the belt noise when it is cold out...it goes away a bit when the engine warms, but gets loud as soon as i step on the gas. I've tried spraying lube on the belt...helped for a couple minutes. i have a 92 V8 dak. thanks

Message: take the belt off buy a new one use 80 grit sand paper and rough up the pulleys put a decent amount of belt dressing on it and get it real tight :)

Message: WD 40 does it every time. Or just replace the belt.

Message: Don't put WD-40 on the belt! I know it takes the noise away for a while, but why the hell would you want to lubricate something which is suppossed to be tight. Get some belt dressing and spray it on there. It gets rid of the squeel without lubricating it.
