Subject: Air intake or just drop in k&n IP: Logged
Message: Just put an original flowmaster 40 series muffler on my truck. Kept the single stock pipe. Would a whole intake kit be better or just a drop in K&N filter. I dont want to void any warrantys. What are the best bolt on air intake systems? 2002 QC 4.7 Thanks in advance!
Message: Don't worry about voiding warranties with an intake, you'll be fine. I think a whole system will give a bit more power than a drop-in, but if you use a drop in and replace the flex tubing between the airbox and the airhat with some straight tube, you would probably see slightly better gains than just the drop-in... lot's of us have built our own, they work just fine too.
