Message: If you have the time, material and patience do it, how ever a couple of tips that might help,,first they are right about the texture, you may go ahead and get some 400-600 grit wet and dry sand paper to knock it down, take your time and be EVEN,second get a laquer thinner and wipe the plastic down (FAST and LIGHT!! prolonged contact will melt it!)to eliminate any oil film that may cause "fish-eye"and get fish-eye eliminator to mix with paint to help as well and get tackywipes from paint supply shop and wipe down to eliminate dust pre, third and most important get flexagent for your base color and top coat, these arejustacoupleof things to help a little theresmore to itso you may want to consider having a shop do it but thats your call,,,good luckeither way!
