Subject: 408 Cam Choice IP: Logged
Message: I'm rebuilding the 408 out of my burnt Ram and installing it in my 1995 Dakota, 318, 5 speed, 4x2. Should be a screamer.
Anyway, the cam I have now I picked when I was running the Vortech blower so it was a "blower grind", custom job. Here are the specs:
224/230 at .050
507/512
On a 115 center
What do you all think of that cam for a normally aspirated motor? Should I run that or put something else in? I figure since the motor is getting totally rebuilt I should consider swapping cams now if I'm going to do it.

Message: KRC Performance has a secret 408X cam that they won't give the specs on, but claims it "pukes torque and pulls 6200RPM hard!". It also pulls 12" of vacuum. That's the one I am going for when I put the 408 in my new SS/T.

Message: It will work well. Most blower grinds just have a opened up lobe centerline for less overlap.
Gears are on their way I hope :)
