Subject: heater not too hot IP: Logged
Message: I've had the "lukewarm" heater problem for some time. I finally did the reverse heater core cleanout (took the lines off and backflushed the core). A bunch of brown crud came out.
Thing is, it's still blowing lukewarm. It's a little bit warmer than before, but not much.
What can I do next?
Thanks,
Daveo.

Message: try unhooking one of the heater hoses and blow in the other one with a air hose. If that don't work, you might have to bite the bullet and replace the heater core. I did in my 96. It wasn't too bad of a job. also flush the cooling system might help

Message: I've got a '93 with 204,000 miles and I've had the same problem with luke warm air. I removed both hoses to the heater core and flushed both directions. That would help for a few days then the same symptom. I've flushed the about 4 times now and it will scorch you with heat! I think my trouble originated when I replaced the radiator a couple of years ago with one out of the salvage yard that was all metal, and probably not clean. Flush yours a few more times before you replace it. It doesn't take much to stop flow.
