Subject: ignition light/accesory lights help IP: Logged
Message: I have a 91 dakota. The problem I'm having is that there is a short or some bad wiring with the little light around the ignition. Its behind a clear plastic ring and shines a greenish color. Ok the problem is that it does not go off, so all summer while my truck is rarely used it keeps draining the battery. Is there a way to either take out the bulb, or maybe an accesory light fuse that can be removed? I also had to take out the dome light as that would not stay off one day. Like I said its just a snow truck so I don't need these lights, but I don't want it ruining the battery.
Thanks in advance!

Message: i checked the switches...i'm not really sure what i'm looking for though. They are still good on both doors and there are not holes rusted through where they hit the door, so when the doors are closed the switches are definately being pressed in. Is there a way i can disable the ignition light from one of those? I'd rather just disable it and not have to worry about it.
Thanks again for the fast reply.

Message: I ended up taking the housing of the steering column off and just removing the bulb, it was easy to do.
Thanks for your time.
