Message: Kracker, I hate to correct you but not all front wheel drive cars are created equal. My 1993 Chrysler Concorde, sister to the Dodge Intrepid and the Egale Vision, is front wheel drive but the motor is mounted like it is rear wheel drive. I know they did this untill atleast 2000 but I'm not sure. I wounder if the designers were on crack, but it made it so easy to work on. Also it was the only one of the LH model cars that has the motors mounted like that.

Message: Actually you can thank Renault for the engine being the right way in the LH cars. It was their joint venture with AMC that led to the LH series from the Eagle Medallion, designed and built in France.
Just can't get away from the French and Garmans. LOL.

Message: Sorry to say that unless you have a hoist and can get at them from the bottom, you may need to take it in to be done (I work for a dealer and do this for a living). The newer 3.8's (98 and up) you can take the cowling off and get them from the top in most cases. It's a pain in the butt, but it's fed my family for a number of years.
Good luck to ya!

Message: i used to have a 92 lumina with a transverse mounted engine and i had to take off the top engine mounts, put it in neutral, hook a rope into the hoisting hooks on the engine, and have someone pull on the rope just far enough so i could shove a 2x4 between the alternator and the firewall. but after that it went pretty well. yours is probably different though
